Netrani Island

Netrani Island is also called as Pigeon Island, which is located around 20 Nautical miles in Arabian sea (around 2 hrs boat journey) from the port of Bhatkal. This Island is also famous for Scuba diving and has some of the best sites for diving activities. Once in a year the local fisherman and their families visit this place to conduct prayers and offering to God. We were lucky to visit this place as one needs to take special permission from the authority to visit this place in other days of the year.

The big boat cannot go near the island because of sharp rocks, hence we need to shift to the smaller             boats, the shifting and climbing to the Island is very risky as the waves were strong and the rocks are             slippery.

This small rocky Island is used by Indian navy for target practice

It is said that this missile was accidentally fallen in this Island during the Navy target practice.
